THE SUPREME TROPHY AWARDS GALA 2025!
Well, here we are again, at the 7th STAG and this year’s theme was “Back to the 1980’s” and boy did we go back there! It gives great pleasure to report that S.T.A.G 2025 was a huge success, once again held at the lovely Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Swindon, The Lydiard suite was festooned in everything you can imagine 80’s wise and some things you probably can’t or wouldn’t like to see again…visions of lime green, bright pinks and fiery orange, if you weren’t wearing sunglasses, you might have needed a pair that day!
We had fab stalls over the weekend including a few new ones, which were JJ Pet Supplies, Leto’s Light and Canine Holistics, thanks to them all for attending and donating so much generous sponsorship over both days. The health testing area over both days was kept very busy this year, once again in the very capable hands of Laura Hamilton and Vanessa Bryant, with many Frenchie’s and other breeds taking advantage of everything on offer.
The 2025 secret judges were Mr Ben Hines, Ms Angela Pleasance and Mr Geoff Corish, and they all set to work moving through the classes this year, with speed and professionalism. Keeping our judges secret each year is no easy task; we are so pleased you all enjoyed your judging and were able to join us for this special day.
With so much fantastic sponsorship and prizes, we ensured everyone received a great qualifiers gift bag and goodies upon entering the hall, then all the class winners and runner ups also received further prizes and gifts, finally and if their arms and bags weren’t fully laden enough, the 4 top prizes including amazing framed rosettes, giant garden Frenchie ornaments and stunning bespoke dog coats for them all, these coats were once again made for us by the lovely Nikki Humphries who as part of her Deefordog business can really create anything one a sewing machine you can imagine!
Thanks to Portly French and Dale Park for covering both days with their photography and squeaker toys skills, it's really great knowing you are doing your bit and we don't have to worry about things, as you have it all organised in the "French " zone! Whilst the daytime theme had a flavour of what was to come for the party, it was once again brought so brilliantly to life by Yvonne Ayriss’ husband, the lovely and talented Mark Ayriss, who was fed an idea, and he ran away with it! We are so grateful to him for his input and hard work to make it all look so magnificent with his painted wood displays, it finishes the room off so well.

A FEW WORDS FROM OUR JUDGES
This show is so close to my heart, having been part of the team in its creation from the beginning and seeing it grow into such a successful event is a privilege.
The event was seamlessly executed, a testament to the hard work behind the scenes. It was also a pleasure to work alongside such an esteemed panel of fellow judges, their expertise and camaraderie made the experience even more special. Huge thanks to all entrants, and I wish the club and exhibitors continued success!
Ben Hines
It was a great honour to be invited to be one of the three judges for the most prestigious event in the French Bulldog calendar. Trying to keep it a secret for so long was not easy l can tell you!! We were not told who are co judges were, l only knew Ben was one was when we bumped into each other in the hotel. As for the third judge, we didn't even know until we were in the Doubletree hotel and Angela walked into the room, that’s how secret it is. The judging could not have been fairer, the judging is done on a points system, and the judges are not allowed to confer at any time, only for best in show. As you will know this is an event for the various winners during the year and so the quality is going to be high. As l said the judges don't confer but it was amazing to see how all three of us had similar points for each dog. It was a unanimous decision for best in show and many congratulations to Ch Rischale Henrietta at Ellouab, a truly lovely example of a Frenchie bitch.
For me personally, l have judged lots of shows, and overseas too, but I have to congratulate the committee on its awards and prizes. I can honestly say that I have never see a display quite like it, the stage was a sight to behold. The amount of work that goes into this event has to be staggering, and l congratulate each and every one of the committee for all your efforts. My apologies for not staying for the evening party, but a holiday in South Africa beckoned the next day!!

Firstly, I would like to thank The French Bulldog Club of England for inviting me to judge their prestigious event, the Supreme Trophy Awards Gala 2025. I was well looked after, and the event was so well organised with every little detail was covered.
In my opinion the temperaments of the dogs were excellent, however some had loose eyelids and almond shaped eyes, nostrils were better being wider and more open, tails are still lacking in both sexes, I thought the overall quality of the bitches was better.
The hotel was great, and on arrival the reception covered everything you would need to know. I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend thank you once again

We turned the room around for the evening party, it really was a psychedelic mish mash of bright colours, and we ensured everyone got sunglasses for the evening. Did anyone let us down? That’s a huge NO! You all pulled out the stops this year to fully embrace the evening theme, with some of the top outfits voted on by everyone, again to win more prizes. The effort that had been put into your looks for the evening was truly phenomenal. A fun start to the festivities this time was for the spinning wheel, everyone in the suite had a scratch card on their table and 14 lucky people won some great prizes, all helped along with some of the 80’s dressed ladies as per any 1980’s gameshow would have!
We were so grateful to have Eventimate join us again this year, with head DJ and boss Jay Drake bringing those tunes and visuals to life, we really wanted to create the old Top of The Pops vibe, and along with the huge video screens, smoke machine and lasers, I think we did it?!

YOU ALL GOT THE MEMO!
Every year when you buy a ticket and then take the idea of the theme to heart and do your bit to join in, it makes it so truly fantastic to see so many original ideas that were so different and you could tell how much thought had gone into it all. I think the word "legend" truly springs to mind for some of those outfits, they were all just amazing!

In 2027, we look forward to saying Willkommen, Bienvenue and Welcome for a touch of “Ooh La La” and a nibble of sauciness at the 8th STAG, which has a Cabaret/Burlesque/Moulin Rouge twist to the theme.
