FBCE Juniors – Special classes to follow on after Limit show

I started showing dogs as an 8-year-old in 1975, I handled my parents GSD’s in Junior Handling classes and qualified for the Junior Handling semi-final many times and in 1983 placed 2nd out of 103 entries under the late Carl Jackson. From 1983 I began to handle in breed classes at Open and Championship shows being placed at a high level several times. In 1985 I gained our dogs 3rd CC, gaining her title at Driffield and went on to win the Working Group. I went on to make three of our own GSD’s up, along with handling a friends GSD and gaining her title and getting BOB at Crufts. I have a lot to thank my late father (Roy French) for, he pushed and taught me so much regarding handling, showing, breeding and if wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be where I am today. My judging started in 1983 with my first Open Show appointment of 8 classes of GSDs with an entry of 108. I went on to judge at Open Shows, this then led to me being offered my first set of CCs in 1994 aged 27 years old (I was one of the youngest in GSDs to award CC’s). I then went on to judge different breeds and groups (working and pastoral) at Open Shows. This has now moved on to other breeds in different groups. My love for French Bulldogs goes back many years when sitting watching them with my late father, but we never considered at that time about owning one due to them be on different days at champ shows. Then about 6 years ago I was approached by a friend and was asked to handle her Frenchie puppy, from then my love for the French Bulldog has grown, they are such a loving fun breed. Now I have 4 Frenchies living with me and 2022 was a great year in the show ring for me. I am very honoured to have been invited to judge the members limit show for the French Bulldog Club of England
