THE SUPREME TROPHY AWARDS GALA 2024!

So, another year over, and after 9 months of sorting, plan making and sponsor organising, it gives great pleasure to report that S.T.A.G 2024 was a huge success,hope you enjoy looking at all the photos and fun we had. Once again held at the lovely Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Swindon, our 3 secret judges were Mr Lee Cox, Miss Sonia Davis and stepping in when one of our judges was unable to, Mr Phillip Stemp. We had fab stalls over the weekend from Nikki Humphries and her DeeforDog, Jane Morgan-Ling and her Mystics Emporium, Ray and Emma Hunter from BarkN’ Bite, Anna Spenser with her Artero goodies and then Gemma Howard with her Loveabull stall. Thanks to them all for attending and donating so much generous sponsorship over both days. Laura Hamilton and Vanessa Bryant were once again super busy with their health area and the testing taking place over both days, not only with the frenchies but lots of other breeds were present for various health tests too.
There were so many happy faces leaving the room very heavily laden with superb rosettes and gifts. We must thank Ann Wildman and what was the West Lancs French Bulldog Club for donating items earlier in 2024, and because of this we were able to utilise a set of 8 frenchie awards for the category winners. Charlotte Swateridge was again in charge of all the rosettes, and she created bespoke matching colour themed ruffles and a cowboy hat to finish these 8 awards off, they looked really fun.

We went full on Wild West this year, with long tables and gingham cloths, all beautifully dressed by Bev Hucker and Charlotte Swateridge, with hessian, bows, old wine bottles, all created for the event by them both. Welcomed to the room with an apple pie boozy shot, served by a couple of the wildest girls in the west, it was straight onto the evening welcome photos, then to sit down.
A WILD WEST WELCOME!
We had hidden 7 golden dollar bills under random napkins, each winner came up and were awarded a bottle of Jack Daniels, then onto the meal. Trying to announce the meal was hard as we were rudely heckled by some cowgirl named Gerri Forsyth, who proceeded to take over the dancefloor with a whole bunch of cowgirls and then started the night with a bit of line dancing to get us in the mood. We did have to explain to a few people that Gerri hadn’t been rude, but it was all part of the secretly organised flash mob to start things off with a YEE HAAW!! We had a fabulous meal again this year, with all the hotel staff joining us with the theme and dressing up. To keep things ticking over we had 3 professional dancing girls show us some moves and then on their last dance a proper line dancing workshop, which so many got up to join in on..5,6,7,8..my boot scooting baby is driving me crazy! Whilst this was going on, a stray cowboy’s horse appeared and started to mosey on around the room, turns out it was Nikki Humphries and Dawn Smith as another fun dress up, after attending with Kev the Rev, the blow-up doll last year that everyone seemed to have fun with, they took the theme to an extreme this year as well! A thank you to our judges with their gifts awarded followed next and then the results of our auction, which again proved to be a great success, well done to everyone that bid and actually won their coveted items!

THE EVENING HOE DOWN!!!!
Once everyone had all eaten their food and the line dancing was out the way, it was more music and time for the Bucking Bronco to start! What sounded like a potential recipe for a disaster....too much food, alcohol and lots of the over 50 club and hips, legs and backs the next day, but it was hugely appreciated and there were long lines waiting to have a go, the trick was to be lean and thin to stand the chance of a decent time on it, speaking of the 50’s and over,it never stopped some from running around the room on their horse and on the tables, like a cowgirl teenager! The party carried on until midnight, and then like a miracle the night staff turn the room around in the wee hours and by the time we stagger back in on Sunday for the Championship show, it then only needs a few tweaks and off we went for day 2.
