S.T.A.G 2019 took place over the weekend of October 19th & 20th in conjunction with our Championship show. We like to call it our weekend extravaganza, and we really lived up to that name this year! With a strong theme with Halloween around the same time, it was a perfect excuse to spooky things up a bit and really go wild with our promotion leading up to the event and on the day with everything from our colour schemes, rosettes, table settings and of course everyone that joined into the spirit of the thing by dressing up on the Saturday night for the evening meal and awards and entertainment.This year’s theme for the evening party was Glamoween ( Glamorous & Halloween) a combination of spooky or sparkly, or glamourous and ghoulish, the choice was yours to really go for it, we were all so pleased so many people really did get into the theme to join in. Everyone partaking in the morning or main event were all given their lanyards and their bumper gift bags to start the day and then onto the first event with Maria Harding judging our Charity Showcase with a very healthy entry of veterans, pairs and teams and all raising funds for the 4 UK welfare and rescue groups. There’s not only the mornings money, we add to it everything from our online auction and also this year we had a fabulous gifted glittery mask by Shelley Chapman and Alex Henderson Artwork which was donated and raffled off, raising further funds for the pot. Once again, thank you to everyone that helped raise the funds to start with, we made an amazing £2,000 altogether! We had our fabulous selection of stalls from Opie’s Emporium, Frenchie Creations, Dogeria and many others to keep those splashing that cash, thanks to all the stall holders over the weekend who very generously sponsored our classes and prizes for our top winners.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the driver for the Denmark Team had recently suffered a stroke, so were sadly unable to make the event. I am sure you would all wish him a speedy recovery as we all do. Our 2 teams from Spain had incorrect paperwork at the tunnel so were also unable to make it on the day. Our Tenerife team were left one short. The S.T.A.G team 2019 thinking on their feet decided the fairest option was to have all 3 judges in the ring and compete the dog against the bitch and then the winner to go through to the evening event

A few words from our judges
We were both delighted to be invited by the committee of the French Bulldog Club of England, the parent club and the oldest French Bulldog Club, steeped in history and founded in 1902, to judge the Supreme Trophy Awards Gala 2019 Charity Showcase and Main classes with our fellow judges Lilian Poulson and Bitten Oldereide. This prestigious well-run event was looking fabulous with lots of exhibitors and dogs and a wonderful layout. We must take this opportunity to thank the committee and exhibitors for making us feel so welcome and for the great hospitality, as it was Halloween and we were told it was to be themed in the evening, we decided to embrace this and it was great to see what a fantastic effort was made by The French Bulldog Club of England committee and the exhibitors.

Oozing breed type, bat like ears and lovely expression. Well filled under the eyes correct bite and good width of underjaw, excellent arch of neck, fabulous front good depth of brisket, plenty of spring of rib short coupled strong well-muscled quarters. Nice tail, moves out with purpose and drive holding top line in profile and parallel in front and rear.

After another fantastic day the evening fun started with so many people joining in and dressing up for the Halloween theme, we had a great meal followed by the entertainment, dancing and it all carried on into the small hours. Another fantastic Supreme Trophy Awards Gala and one we never could have done without everyones participation, sponsoring, fabulous dogs and all round party enthusiasm. Here's to the next one!
