After many hurdles with hotels cancelling due to covid and then being used to help house the refugee crisis, our Winter Weekender came and went in a flash of amazing dogs, fantastic results, loads of important health testing, great food, pop up shops, the best sponsorship from people and companies alike and the hardest working officers and committee who pulled out all the stops to ensure we really did put on the best event that we possible could. A huge thanks to our 3 judges and our stewards did a sterling job keeping everything moving along smoothly and another thanks must go to all the friends, partners and family members who helped out with setting up and clearing down,
a strong dedicated team certainly makes the job easier.

Our amazing raffle generated over £600 over both days and our top winning mega raffle prize was won by Jane Morgan and Ged Ling, the FBCE members raffle to win a bottle of fizz at each show went down very well, again just another touch to make sure our members and exhibitors are looked after by us and appreciated for their support. Babs Jordan ran her winter photo booth which went down a storm with people wanting a photo with a wintery backdrop, as well as taking photos outside both Babs and Michell Stidwell did a sterling job of live streaming all 3 events and both taking photos for our website and social media and our club magazine. On the Sunday we awarded our 2021 League Table awards to all the top winning dogs and our top colour awards too, both categories had been sponsored by Jane Morgan and Ged Ling and Jane had worked exceptionally hard to create bespoke framed awards featuring some vintage early 1970's FBCE award cards that we had recently uncovered alongside some fantastic silicone colored frenchies to represent the 4 breed standard colours. The beautiful decoupage drawers were won by Ann Wildman, they are truly special and they would never be found for sale under normal circumstances as they are very sought after and collectable. Once all our awards were done on Sunday we then followed it by a puppy walk, run again by Jane and overseen by Charlotte Thomas who went over the puppies beautifully, it was not a show for them but just to let them get a feel for a noisy show environment with other dogs, smells, lots of noise and people going over them. It was very well supported and again it added another special touch to our weekend. The club made a very special award to the Cund and Harrop partnership to acknowledge Ch Chelmbull the Aviator on becoming the breed record holder with 37 CC's, a truly exceptional result for this dog. A bespoke framed award alongside one of only 2 larger FBCE bronze medallions that we had engraved for this very special award. Congratulations to them all, to see the emotion and proudness on the day as we awarded Dean and Abbie Cund and their boy this special award was a truly wonderful moment.

On behalf of the officers and committee of the FBCE, we would all like to say a MASSIVE thank you to you all for supporting our Winter Weekender. All the feedback and comments so far make the months of hard work and planning worth it, it is for you and the breed that we do all this, not for ourselves personally. This in turn all helps our club to continue successfully into next year which will be its 120th year in existance.
